Hirohisat (talk ยท contribs) I have been here on wikipedia since April 2007, and wanted to have a 3rd-person opinion on my edits. Just in case I'm doing some work the wrong way, I wanted to have a editor review. Thank you for your time! --Hirohisat Talk 08:13, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

You've done some good work with the trains project, reviewing articles and whatnot, but the VAST majority of your mainspace work is vandalfighting. [1]. I'm not criticising this - vandalfighters are vital to our ongoing success, but is it really what you enjoy doing the most around here? Do you enjoy vandalwhacking more then you enjoy writing articles? If yes, go for it! If no...well, the more you enjoy yourself, the more you can help the project.

You've done good work in the project space, and your AIV participation is helpful, but you spent a lot of time at MfD. Again, not a problem, but MfD isn't the most taxing area of the XfD arena - you don't really need that much knowledge of policy (IMO) to get around that area, because the nominations there are more accurate, then, say, at AfD. From what I've seen, the number of keep verdicts at MfD is a good deal lower then at AfD (where I'm active). My conclusion - if you really want to show a knowledge of policy, or if you want to challenge yourself a bit more, then other XfD areas are the way to go.

Just as a note: [2] is not a vandalism only account - an IP isn't an account ;) Otherwise, most of the AIV reports I saw resulted in blocks, which is always nice - this was something I got in trouble for in my RfA :P

If you want to prove diffs etc. for your conflict, I'll be happy to take a look over it.

If you hang around for a few more months (User:Husond/RFA may be of interest), I'm sure you'll breeze through an RfA, and I'll be happy to nominate you. If you have any comments on this review, please throw large metal objects at me, by responding here or on my talk page. {{humour}} ;) Giggy Talk | Review 05:06, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
No article in particular, but mainly in the participation of Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains in Japan. I have created few articles, templates, and participated in discussions.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes, I had a conflict. I warned a user that they should not put barnstars on their own userpage, and that got the other user very mad. I was pretty concerned, and I asked my adopter for help. He suggested that I apologize since it was my fault. For the next time it happens, for which I hope not, I will first of all avoid that situation, and to be civil and not offend the other user, which I seemed to have done last time.
