DavidJJJ (talk ยท contribs) I would like a review, because I would like to nominate myself for adminship in the near future. I have just over 1000 edits on wikipedia.

  • Your edits are sound, and you seem to make wise decisions. I think that you are a good editor, and would make a good admin later on. As for right now, you don't have enough edits. I applied for admin with just under 3000 edits, and I was told to come back in another 3000. You could also use more Wikipedia namespace edits. I would also recommend reading over WP:SD and WP:AFD, as admin responsibilities include closing afds and speedy deleting articles. After reading them over, comment on afds and join the Newpages Patrol. Having avoided disputes shows a lot for your character, but being an admin brings disputes with trolls and vandals almost by definition, and you'll need to know how to resolve them. I would recommend joining the mediation cabal to get experience with resolving disputes. I hope that I have been helpful. You're a good editor, and you'll be admin material very soon. • I'll repeat what Hybrid said. Your AfD would get shot down faster than a pigeon on a target range. The main problem is your lack of participation in the wikipedia namespace (not articles). If you want to be an admin, keep editing, use popups (a very useful tool), click on "recent changes" or "random article" and clean up any vandalism you see. Participate in WP:AFD. Hunt vandals and report them on WP:AIV. Check the new pages logs and tag silly ones for WP:CSD. That's if you really want to be an admin. But honestly, do you need to be an admin? You're very good at what you do: writing an encyclopaedia. Your edits are top notch, and you're making Wikipedia better. Why waste time and energy trying to get tools you don't need? Admin tools are a means, not an end. Think about it. Whatever you do, good luck and happy editing! yandman 10:57, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
  • You also need to use edit summaries more. People on the RfA board typically expect the summary usage to be close to 100% at any given time. -- THL 04:33, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
  • To be honest, you shouldn't apply for adminship just yet. Wait until you've gathered enough edits in more spaces; the page with your most edits is your userpage. My advice would be to try to bring an article to good or featured status - you'll learn a lot more about the Wikipedia process than making occassional edits to a number of articles. By the way, a helpful tip for increasing the number of edit summaries you write is: "My preferences -> Editing -> Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". However, the large number of edits you've made to the User talk namespace is encouraging. Anyway, keep it up! CloudNine 17:42, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
The majority of my edits have been minor edits, but I occasionally create new articles or substantially edit articles. For example, I often make pages of new songs when they come out. I have also tried to do some anti vandalism work, but checking the recent changes page.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I have never really been involved in conflict, however I have got autoblocked twice. DavidJJJ 21:59, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
