I reviewed your user page, user talk page, and the edit count readout, and I glanced at the WW1 portal.

  • I'm very impressed overall. You've done outstanding work in building and organizing the information in the Military History WikiProject, and presenting it to casual readers like me in the portal format. It's not every day that I can review an editor who has 7 edits in the Portal Talk namespace!
  • I would encourage you to consider applying for adminship. I see that you work closely with User:Kirill Lokshin, who is an admin. A nomination or recommendation from him would go a long way. Your edit count (>7000) is already enough for RFA. What holds you back is the low Wikipedia-space count outside the WikiProject. Some of the more nitpicky voters will want to see you do XFDs, RFCs, and whatnot. If you're willing to diversify a little bit, you could be a fine admin. If not, you're doing excellent work as you stand.
  • I'm curious that you have 3000 edits to article talk but no more than 9 to any single page. I'm guessing these were templates to mark an assessment of an article or its place within a WikiProject. If you look at the Community Portal (link on the left sidebar), I think there's an ongoing effort, in tandem with WP:ACID, to assess all of Wikipedia's biography articles. This may be of interest to you.

  • I don't check "edit counts" or other artificial means of assessing "contributions". When editing an article, I "save" multiple times, to ensure my golden words aren't lost to a blackout, computer failure, Act of God, Satan or other mischievious forces. This gives me lotsa "edit counts", and means nothing.
    However, user:Carom, in my few dealings with him/her has always been courteous, considered other POV, been willing to modify "his" article to accomodate new evidence, and is always willing to discuss changes, even if she/he does not necessarily agree with them. That, more than artificial "edit counts", counts for more. Damned fine editor, IM(sometimes not so H)O. Wikipedia should be proud to have him/her here. Esseh 07:39, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
    I am the primary maintainer of Portal:World War I, which is a featured portal, so I am quite pleased with that; Portal:World War II is also working in that direction.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
    I've been in a few minor conflicts (mostly disagreements over article assessment), none of which were particularly heated, and all of which were resolved amicably through communication.
