Anthony cfc (talk ยท contribs) I have been editing for approximately one and a half years (my first edit) and I believe I have evolved and matured considerably as an editor during this time. I have joined numerous Wikiprojects and organisations for the greater good of Wikipedia, and I have adopted a user. Hopefully, my small contributions will, in time, make a big difference to Wikipedia.
Reviews
- I quite like Daniel's style of review, so why not commit blatant theft and use that format? :)
-
- Statistics
-
- Activity: ~1,500 edits is a respectable enough number since February 2006, and you appear to be accelerating; around a third of all your edits were made in the last month. That would probably count against you if you were to run in an RfA (people don't generally trust users who have "spiked" recently), but if you can sustain it over the next months or two, it would count strongly in your favour.
- Mainspace: You've "only" made 347 edits to the mainspace, and it would be great to see more from you there, since the vast majority of your edits to the mainspace appears to be from recent change patrol. We can always do with more patrollers, so I'd encourage you to spend more time on that if the mood every strikes you. There's always Newpage Patrol, too. :)
- Wikipedia: WP:ER and WP:AFD/T seem to occupy most of your time here, and I'm happy with how you're progressing. You could stand to make a few more edits here, proportional to your total, but there's nothing wrong with the way you're going here. I suggest you spend some time discussing RFAs, though, as a way of involving yourself a little more in the important administrative aspects of Wikipedia.
- User talk: Nothing to report here. :) Welcoming users is an extremely valuable pastime, and contributing to that effort is very good of you. Well done.
- Behaviour
-
- Civility: I don't think I've ever seen you behave in an uncivil manner, ever, and a look at your talk page raises no red flags at all.
- Courtesy and kindness: Adopt-a-user and AMA membership pretty much give you a great big tick in this box, right here. I'm impressed with your enthusiasm in this regard, and would love to see you continue with programs like this well into the future. Again, well done.
- Participation in dispute resolution: Your AMA membership is an advantage here, although I'd be grateful if you could link directly to at least one or two examples of your work here for me to look at. It demonstrates a willingness to involve yourself in dispute resolution, to be sure, but that's about all I can say for the moment. :)
- Time period: You've been here for yonks, I don't see any problem here.
- Final thoughts
-
- Overall, you strike me as an enthusiastic, dedicated and honest user whose experience at Wikipedia raises no red flags for me at all. I suggest you try to maintain your current level of activity (trying not to burn out in the process :) ), and I believe you'd be well suited to adminship before too long at all. Questions
- Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- Nowadays, I am not a big contributer to mainspace articles but I am pleased with Cambuslang station which was one of my original edits. However, I am a big helper in Wikiprojects including Esperanza, Wikiproject:Trains, the Welcoming Committee, and the AMA (Association of Members Advocates) where I have dealt with cases such as the Google Bomb conflict. I have also adopted User:Db1944 which I feel will be a way of passing on my experience to the next generation of Wikipedians. However, my favourite contribution must be the hundreds of Recent Changes Patrol anti-vandalism edits I have undertook. On this topic I am pleased with the informative and constructive style of warning I have undertook whilst patrolling: this includes warning on the offendor's talk page using my Vandal Template and inserting in the heading how they vandalised (link to comparing with last edition via history) and what article they vandalised. All in all, I think I have contributed to Wikipedia in my own small but special way.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Over my (going on) two years on Wikipedia, I have only ever been involved in one edit conflict which was when I first joined the RC Patrol, and my inexperienced ways resulted in more superior users giving me a fair telling off! My scars of these conflict are still on my talk page archive, but I have since apologised to Ancheta Wis and I hope she bears no grudge. To this extent it should be noted I remain civil at all times and I never Bite (especially the newbies, hence my enrollment at the welcoming committee).
