[edit] Review by Moonriddengirl

Hi. I've spent some time rooting around your contributions and history. I see a lot of good wikignoming going on. There's good general tweaking of articles, like here and here. (I am a bit confused, though, with the latter example as to where "weasel words" were in that section. I don't see any vague qualifiers of the "people say" variety.) You've got good use of edit summaries, and I'm impressed with your politeness here. You seem generally to do a very good job with patrolling changes and warning editors, but I wonder about this one. There may be history there that I haven't traced, but at a glance it seems that editor removed unsourced material, which doesn't necessarily warrant a vandalism warning—maybe a uw-delete1 to encourage the use of edit summaries when making such changes would have been more appropriate. :) With regards to this quotation, Wikipedia:Citing sources#When you quote someone notes that "You should always add a citation when quoting published material, and the citation should be placed directly after the quotation". Overall, however, it looks to me like you're pretty familiar with policies & guidelines and are putting a fair amount of effort into your work on Wikipedia. I like the evidence of diligence here—you didn't simply !vote and move on, but put thought and research into it.

You note that you want to learn to become a better editor. Given your history, the best suggestion that I can make is that you consider becoming involved with a Wikipedia clean-up project. There are a lot of opportunities there for you to help improve the project further and in the doing become dead familiar with the policies that govern those projects. :) You might also want to become more active in some of the collaborative parts of Wikipedia, like helping out at Wikipedia:Requests for comment. We can always use good editors over there. There are also always a ton of article up for WP:AfD that could use opinions from editors who know their way around.

Happy editing, and keep up the good work. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:17, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
No, I've only created a few articles and I generally concentrate on minor edits like spelling, grammar and sometimes factual checks or clarification. I also warn vandals a lot.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I generally just stay away from edit wars and let others do the flaming... ajdlinux | utc 08:01, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
