My name is Ayelie, also referred to with the nickname E@L, and I joined Wikipedia on November 6th 2005 - under a different account name. I speak English, understand French well and speak it with a Gatineau accent, and understand Latin, Italian, Spanish, and some bits of languages derived from Latin and with the same basic roots as the others.
At first my "mission" here was to create articles for all former Mayors of Ottawa, after which I tackled recategorisation of the dance category, which was full of articles belonging in subcats. Since those first projects I worked on I've gone through spurts where I've focused on anti-vandalism, on copyediting articles en route to FA status, and on creating and expanding WikiProject Ballet along with Keitei.
In January I made a move to the Commons, and became an administrator there in March. I've since focused mainly on images and image work on the Commons, but I still work here on wikipedia cleaning up articles and working on WikiProject Ballet, trying to expand and bring in new members.

Excellent User Page Award |
Thanks so much for the (completely unsolicited!) advice regarding my userpage! Eventually I went with EMan32x's design, probably because it was the most different to my old one, and I felt like a bit of a change. But thanks so much, regardless :) riana_dzasta 10:35, 21 October 2006 (UTC) |
For all your help in re-designing my userpage (and for having a cool one yourself!), I am honoured to present you with the Excellent User Page Award. Jam01 06:21, 23 October 2006 (UTC) |

The Resilient Barnstar |
For being my friend and all that goes with it,
I, $PЯINGεrαgђ, give you this cream tart. Enjoy!
Well, here's another goodie to add to your collection! ;)
Well, on a slightly more serious note,
you've made me laugh a lot, that's a good sign of a friend,
and any Esperanzan deserves one of these, anyway!
And I'm tired and can't think of anything else to say… ;-) |
After being all that you've been through, you desrve this. It perfectly describes you! Don't let anything get you down again, or I might have to fill up your page again! ;-) --Randfan 01:37, 17 November 2006 (UTC) |

- Me: On the MotoMixer on some Motorola phones, there's a base tune called "Esperanza".
- You: Really? Is it nice?
- Me: Really. It's all cheery; which, as it's Spanish for 'hope', it should be!
- You: Yes indeed. No MfD's on the ringtone, I hope?
You know why :) Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?) 20:47, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Because I'm really concerned due to the message on Kyoko's user page, I whipped up this heart in Inkscape to make you feel better. Look, it's even coloured like your user page! Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, Sunshine?) 02:22, 10 December 2006 (UTC) |
For consistently showing wit and a good sense of humour even when you're down, I award you, Editor at Large, this barnstar. Enjoy! Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, Sunshine?) 08:45, 15 December 2006 (UTC) |

As their homepage says, Esperanza stands for hope. In spite of many newer Esperanzans who have tainted those values, several conflicts, a lot of personal stress, and the death of one close to you, the one thing that has been eternal has been your hope. Your tireless contributions to Wikipedia in spite of these circumstances have served as an example for countless Wikipedians, and it is my honour to award you with this award. Remember, it's always darkest before the dawn. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge aka "Wiz" (Talk to Me) (Support Neutrality) 01:42, 19 December 2006 (UTC) |
Thanks for the past few months, Ayelie, and especially for the other day. I really appreciate it. Ali K 01:07, 24 April 2007 (UTC) |
