EDIUS is a video editing software package developed and sold by the Canopus Corporation which is now owned by Thomson Grass Valley. EDIUS 4.0 is the latest version yet of Canopus's non-linear video editing programs. It supports many video formats, multi-track, mixed format HD / SD editing, compositing, chroma keying, titling, with realtime and timeline output capabilities.
EDIUS key features, as stated on the developer's webpage are:
- Realtime, mixed format HD/SD editing, including DV, HDV, HD, MPEG-2 and uncompressed SD video
- Fast, flexible user interface, including unlimited video, audio, title and graphics tracks
