Editorial process outsourcing (EPO) is a form of knowledge process outsourcing, which itself is a form of outsourcing.
On the corporate side, editorial process outsourcing deals with outsourcing of press releases, writing, editing, and designing newsletters. American and European media companies seem to be the first to enter this market area, but India is quickly becoming the Mecca for EPO with its large pool of educated, skilled workforce[1].
Media organizations can also outsource parts of their editorial processes, most commonly to freelance writers, editors, and photographers. Some are also outsourcing higher-level editorial functions, such as producing special sections and advertising supplements, or running a foreign news bureau [2].
