In the early run of the show Edith had an affair with Jim Lowell which led to scandals. As Jim was going to give his wife, Claire Lowell a divorce he died and Edith was sad and stuned. She later married George Frey and moved to seattle. In 1986, when Chris Hughes died they gathered. George Frey was dead and she moved to North Carolina.
