Edison Park is one of 77 well-defined Chicago, IL community areas. It is a residential neighborhood in northwest Chicago, USA, named after Thomas Alva Edison. According to the 2000 Census, its population is 11,259. Every year there is a festival in uptown Edison Park called "Edison Park Fest". It features food from all around the northwest side of Chicago. Edison Park Fest happens usually around mid-August. 2006's Edison Park Fest dates were August 18, August 19, and August 20. Edison Park Fest also features local bands from Chicago. Edison park has the one of the highest Irish populations in the City of Chicago.[citation needed]
