Elizabeth Dyanne Inksetter was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario and moved to Toronto to begin her acting career. She professionally changed her name to Edie from a nickname given to her by her sister Katherine.

After success on the stage she started working in film and television as an actress appearing in films such as Godsend and Hustle. She currently lives in Vancouver, BC with her husband Stephanne and daughter Jorja Rae.
