[edit] Proposed Deletion

I've added sources to this article and removed the deletion tag. The reason given on the tag was "unsourced article on company that does not meet the notability requirements of WP:CORP". The guidelines in WP:CORP are "A company, corporation, organization, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of secondary sources. " ... "The "secondary sources" in the criterion include reliable published works in all forms, such as (for examples) newspaper articles, books, television documentaries, and published reports by consumer watchdog organizations except for the following: Press releases; Works carrying merely trivial coverage;" As was linked on this talk page, http://www.mediamerica.net/obm2005_03BestFeature.php is a secondary source for information about this company. Another piece of notability (from a quick Google search): http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16063422/ so clearly, it complies with the notability requirements despite what was claimed in the tag. - Afiler 20:07, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

While Edge Wireless is mentioned in each of the webpages linked above, I disagree that Edge Wireless is the "subject" of either of those two stories, and still await an independent source that has Edge Wireless as its subject. However, since the prod was contested, I'll await broader community input via the Afd process. UnitedStatesian 20:31, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Scroll down on http://www.mediamerica.net/obm2005_03BestFeature.php to see the article where Edge Wireless is the sole subject (there's more than one article on that page). - Afiler 22:10, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
It's up to the editor that wants an article to stay on Wikipedia to demonstrate the notability through citations. It's not up to everyone else to go searching through the web or every database on the planet to make sure a subject does not meet notability requirements before proposing that it be deleted. Generally those editing on a subject are more familiar with a topic and know where to find the reliable sources, which is why I tagged every Oregon based company (including this one) that lacked sources with a references needed tag so that those editors might improve the articles to survive a deletion nomination. Simply put, if there are reliable references in an article, then there is no problem with notability and articles will not be deleted. Aboutmovies 02:55, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
