Edgel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edgel is a term commonly used in computer vision research to refer to a pixel in an image that has the characteristics of an edge, as defined in the image processing sense, and may also be used to refer to the orientation and/or magnitude data of the edge. The term originated as an abbreviation of the term "edge pixel", and more information on the methods used to identify edgels can be found in the edge detection article.
