EdgeCast Networks is a Content Delivery Network (CDN). It is based in Los Angeles, California, USA. The company was founded in August 2006 and launched publicly one year later[1].

In December 2007, the company received $6 million in funding from Walt Disney Company’s venture capital arm, Steamboat Ventures.[2].
