Edgar Wallace Mysteries
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Edgar Wallace Mysteries was a low-budget film series made as second features.
They were produced at Merton Park Studios for Anglo-Amalgamated between 1960 and 1965. They were generally loosely based adaptations of original (late Victorian/early twentieth century) stories by Edgar Wallace, ‘updated’ to reflect contemporary settings, probably to obviate the need for costumes and expensive sets.
The opening was a slowly revolving bust of Edgar Wallace to the accompaniment of the Man of Mystery theme played by The Shadows.
They were shown on U.S. television as The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theater.
