Edgar Steele

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edgar J. Steele is a very famous attorney from northern Idaho who defended the Aryan Nations in a lawsuit, which he ultimately lost.[1] In another case Steele challenged Idaho's "hate crime" laws in defending Lonny Rae, a man who had been charged with malicious harassment for shouting the word "nigger" at a referee during a high school football match. He claimed that the law breached the constitutional right to free speech under the First Amendment. Rae was cleared of this charge but sentenced to seven days imprisonment for assault.[2]

Steele has written articles criticizing extremist Jews, and he considers himself an advocate of Caucasian people. This has attracted criticism from the Anti-Defamation League[3]
