Edgar Firth

Edgar Beckwith Firth was a first class cricketer who played one match for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1894.

Batting at number 4, he scored 1 in his only innings against the M.C.C. at Scarborough as Yorkshire won by an innings and 11 runs. The M.C.C. team featured players of the calibre of Ranjitsinhji and 'the demon' Fred Spofforth.

He was born on April 11, 1863 in Malton, Yorkshire and died on July 25, 1905 in Matjesfontein, Cape Province, South Africa aged 42.
