Edappal

Edappal is a town in the Malappuram District of Kerala, India. Edappal is at a junction of four roads. The location is latitude: 10.76, longitude: 76.01
Biyyam Lake , Biyyam Kayal is a green fringed waterway situated near Edappal in Malappuram District. A boat race held in its extensive stretch of water during Onam draws a large number of people from far and near. Women rowers also participate in the race. Now developed into a tourist center, the lake has a water sports facility set up by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC). There is a rest house on the bank of the lake with tourist facilities.
Edappal is also known for its infertility care hospital which is considered one of the best in the country.
Edappal is main business center of Mallapuram district which sales large number of gulf goods
One of the biggest KSRTC depots, Kandanakam, is between Edappal and Kuttippuram.
- The road to the west goes to Ponnani, a famous proselytizing center for Islam.
- The road to the north goes to Calicut where Vasco Da Gama first set foot in India.
- The road to the east goes to Palakkad through Vattamkulam.
- The road to the south passes through Trichur(Thrissur), Kochi (or the anglicized form Cochin), and on to Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)
