Ed Sadowski (basketball)

Edward Frank Sadowski (July 11, 1917–September 18, 1990) was an American professional basketball player.
A 6'5" center, Sadowski starred at Seton Hall University during the late 1930s and early 1940s. He led Seton Hall to its only undefeated season in 1939-1940. Sadowski later played professionally in the National Basketball League, the Basketball Association of America, and the National Basketball Association (which was formed after a merger between the first two leagues in this list).
As a member of the Boston Celtics in 1947-48, Sadowski ranked third in the BAA in points per game (19.4) and was named to the All-BAA first team, made him the first ever Boston Celtics player to named All-BAA/NBA Team. After retiring from basketball in 1950, he worked for the Cities Service Oil Company. He died of cancer at his home in Wall, New Jersey in 1990.
