Ed Pettit (Edward Pettit) is an English Producer/Creative Director who specializes in creating TV programming for the web and emerging platforms. He was born in Cambridge, England in 1976, and after appearing as a child actor in theater and television went on to become a radio reporter with CNFM 103 (now Q103 FM) [1] radio and Hereward 102.7 [2] in Peterborough, England. Later he worked as entertainment reporter for Virgin Radio on the Paul Coyte show in London [3] before joining the BBC as a sports reporter and Producer. In the late 1990s he studied for a degree in Media Production at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle [4]and also worked for Newcastle United [5] and Newcastle Falcons [6]in sports marketing.
In his early 20's he returned to London from Newcastle and worked as a TV Producer and Director leading the way in creating video content for the web for fashion website www.Street.tv and premier-i.com. [7]
In 2002 he founded Guerrilla Productions [8] with Paul Fifield, his best friend from school, and secured web content deals with the likes of FHM.COM, Handbag.com, London Fashion week and the Daily Mail Group.
From 2002 until 2007, Guerrilla Productions grew to become a £10 Million turnover operation that made him and his partners into millionaires.
In late 2007, Ed Pettit and Paul Fifield [9] left Guerrilla to work for the Fresh Media Group [10] as Creative Director for Digital Agency, Bigkid. [11]
Notable projects he has created include web entertainment series; Abduct Me for Sky One [www.katebulkley.com/skyonetomakenotfortvseries.html]. FHM Mobile TV for EMAP [12] now Bauer Group, Around the World in 80 Beers [13] for EMAP and various advertiser funded projects for brands including Yahoo!, Microsoft Xbox, Vauxhall, Ford, Intel and Wriggleys.
Ed Pettit regularly speaks at events [14] [15] on the future of Digital Media, Brand funded programming and video on the web [16] and both Directs and Writes for TV as well as his role as Creative Director for BigKid in London and New York.
