Doesn't seem that relevant for an encyclopedia article, and could change at any time. -- Elaich 01:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Blakebs

Blakebs: please stop adding cruft and nonsense to this article. You have been blocked from Wikipedia more than once for this kind of behavior. It will be reverted every time, so quit wasting your time. Thank you. -- Elaich 15:12, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

What the crap are you talking about?! all i did was readd the running time because someone removed it plus i don't know what the heck your talking about i haven't added cruft or nonsense to any article -- 4:53, 20 July 2006 (CST)

This wasn't your edit? Wikipedia seems to think so.

Ages

Once again, the ages of characters have never been stated, except for Eddy's. -- Elaich 02:48, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

If Eddy is 12, than aren't Ed and Double-D? They're all in the same grade, aren't they?

Trivia

Trivia section needs a serious clean-up. Some of them are completely not trivia(like cell animation, fixed number of characters, etc.), and should probably included in the Lead. The references and parodies should be separated. I will try to do something, leave comments and suggestions. -- Henk65 17:05, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I did something. I added about the cell animation in the Lead. I added a "setting" section, which should describe the fictional universe of the show. It's still just a copy-past from the trivia, so it needs work and it's still short. I didn't want to do much until other people agree. So you can revert if you don't agree or whatever. -- Henk65 17:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
We can reduce the amoint of "breaking the fourth walls". Let's just add notable ones, not every instance. --Philo 20:41, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
I like the "setting" edit. Good job. -- Elaich 01:25, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes, it's good idea about the "breaking the fourth walls" -- Henk65 10:11, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
No I disagree this is not fair I enjoyed all the accounts of the breaking of the fourth wall and I think at most they should have their own sub category. I think you people forget why people do a wiki on shows like this, they want trivia and tidbits of information that they might not of seen. (68.226.119.162 19:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC))

requested semi-protection

this is the third time I have requested SP - let's hope they do it. I'm expecting the admins to work as good as FEMA though. --Philo 20:34, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

You're right. An admin told me that less than a dozen vandalisms a day is considered trivial. And we're not even dealing with vandalism now - it's just people adding cruft and irrelevant information. The admin told me just to revert when it happens. The article is VERY well written at this point. Just enough is stated without becoming too wordy or reading like a fan page. For kicks, go to the history page, and start at the very beginning. This article used to read like something that was written by a 2nd grader. -- Elaich 14:57, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
suprise, suprise, my request was denied. --Philo 16:16, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Kevin Oaks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but which episode states that Kevin's family name is Oaks?T-borg 22:26, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

it wasn't. it's just cruft. --Philo 00:12, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks.T-borg 08:37, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
No last names have ever been revealed. -- Elaich 04:54, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Misinterpretation

Someone wrote in Edd's character's description: "It has been hinted he doesn’t like Eddy, since in Pick An Ed he wrote “Eddy is a no neck chump” on the wall."

I'm glad to see it removed, since it was never revealed who wrote “Eddy is a no neck chump” on the wall. All Double-D wanted to do was to get some senses into Eddy by righting the names of Eddy's changed identity instead (Carl, Lenny - because Eddy wanted to stay in their character). Someone had misinterpreted Edd's actions.

Parent's Arms

I propose we delete any references to the parent's arms pulling ed and eddy offscreen with extreme prejudice. NN. --Philo 01:48, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm all for it. I just changed where somebody had made it Ed's aunt who pulled him offscreen. Ed said, one time and one time only, "Please don't send me to live with Aunty!" and now, in these impressionable minds, it is true. They also cite "comics" (?) as a source. Let's just face it - this is a high maintenance page. -- Elaich 04:52, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I think that was me, we don't have any proof. --D-hyo 15:44, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Jonny 2x4

It's "Jonny," not "Johnny." And is "2x4" his last name or what?

---WalterJid 16:40, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

2x4 is his nickname, because of his affinity for trees. No last names have ever been revealed.

He is credited on Cartoon Network.com and in the show's credits (yes, I know of crew worker Jonathon 2x4) as Jonny 2x4. Though I highly doubt it's his last name, his name is defenatly Jonny 2x4 (maybe it's a middle name?)

Movie

There is an EEnE movie in the pipeline, no news about it yet. I heard it off the3eds.com. It will be shown alongside the fifth season in 2008. --D-hyo 15:34, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

No news about it yet? Then it is just a rumor, and has no place in this article.

Touche, look on www.los3eds.com, I said, if not, toon cycle. D-hyo 15:28, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Isn't www.los3eds.com the one that hosts illegal downloads of shows? If there is to be a movie, Antonucci will announce it via CN, or via the Edtropolis site. Since the best we have so far is "years in the future," it shouldn't be mentioned on Wikipedia until it's confirmed. -- Elaich 03:16, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Actually Danny HAS confirmed it, according to this. --Narfbite 23:02, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

You just linked to another fan site, which is only repeating what other fan sites said. When Antonucci announces the movie, it will be announced on Cartoon Network. His contract no doubt requires this. Until an official announcement through channels, this is still just a rumor, and will be treated as such. -- 71.139.246.138 03:23, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

External Links

Please stop posting links to "exploding muffins" and such. Wikipedia is not a forum to promote your own web site. Also, such sites have no proven track record. One site that is often linked here hosts illegal downloads of EEnE shows. Such sites have no place here. The only fan site that has the approval of Danny Antonucci is Edtropolis, the owner of which has visted AKA Studios, met Danny personally, has personal contact with him, and is considered by Danny to be the only fansite that is even close to "official." Thank you. -- Elaich 15:21, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Punctuation Wars

I notice that many of the edits involve changing brackets to quotes (and back again), and the Euro vs. American dating system. Could we please reach a consensus on this? Since EEnE is an American cartoon, I vote for the American (mm/dd/yy) system. -- Elaich 03:12, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Ed's Bio

What is up with that? IS Ed's real name Edwin? He moved to New England? Is any of that true? I don't remember any of thet. I think I should change that.suit-n-tie 07:06, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Just idiotic fancruft. It's been removed. -- 70.130.69.121 14:59, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Kankers Bios?

Should the kankers have individual bios? They are each individual characters so they should right? --suit-n-tie 07:30, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

No. They are minor characters, not enough is known about them individually, and they always function as a group rather than individually. - 70.130.69.121 14:59, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

edward scissorhands reference

The van which the kids drive in 'edward scissorhands' (the purple one with the chrome raindrop that nearly knocks down the kid from 'honey i shrunk the kids') appears in the junkyard in ed edd and eddy. It features a waterbed in the back, a disco ball, and a horn that plays 'la cucaracha' when honked. Incidentally, the cul de sac type setting of edward scissorhands is similar in colour and lay out to the one in ed edd and eddy.

It's irrelevant. -- 70.130.69.121 14:59, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

The List of Scams section

I've proposed it for splitting, because, the article is becoming too big. On a side note, do you think the section is notable enough? Just being curious.T-borg 23:09, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Gone. This is an encyclopedia, not a fan site. -- 70.136.41.4 00:23, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
On an unrelated note, I have deleted the trivia about the episode where the Eds were old was "the first time adults are seen", That paragraph also mentions that the eds had kids. --Philo 23:32, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
...but now someone reverted it. this is the paragraph in question: "Take This Ed and Shove It" marks the first time unimaginary/not-media-related adults have ever been shown (the children in their later years). It was also revealed that the Eds (and the other 12-year-old cul-de-sacians) lived up to 102 by Edd saying "Why, we haven't been children in over 90 years!""

the age when someone ceased being a kid is highly subjective, I don't think 12 is the end. --Philo 15:19, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Episode List

Hello Edd's fanatics. I'm trying to edit the episodes into a table, but I have to do a question before I continue. You see, there are normally 2 ways to mark Seasons in a TV Show, the first one is by Production and according to CN lineaments there are always 13 episodes every season (sometimes with a special). The other is by aired, in which the CN excecutives take the episodes and run as many as they can through a half year and the next years's half. The latter being the way you have it ordered. My question is, do you wan to use the Production Order or continue with the Aired Order? Numbuh 201 01:59, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

What? Didn't liked the new format? Numbuh 201 22:55, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
A simple list seems sufficient. This article is becoming bloated. -- 71.139.246.138 01:38, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Major Cleanup

I just did a major cleanup of the trivia section, deleting all examples. Listing them seems to create a contest to try and come up with as many as possible. There are fan sites that list this information. -- 71.139.246.138 01:42, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

I hate to tell you this, this is a fan site. The wiki isnt an Encyclopedia as stated in its title its a collection of fan sites and pages that try to stay as factual as possible. Except in this medium kids who grew up always getting what they want contiue to have that freedom by defacing or changing peoples hard work (68.226.119.162 19:41, 22 August 2006 (UTC))
Maybe such as you would like to make that become so, 68.226.119.162, but it's not going to happen to this article. Wikipedia is not a fan site, unless people allow it to become so. -- 71.139.246.138 04:35, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
How true, 68.226.119.161. Look at the whining at the bottom of this page.

Sarah

A spoiled brat of a sister who acts cute and charming only when it serves her, Sarah has Ed's unending loyalty and obedience, mostly from threats of her snitching on him. She is almost always playing with Jimmy, and when she's not, she rushes to his aid the moment he calls her. It has been hinted in several episodes that she has a crush on Edd. She also writes in her diary about how angry she is at Ed and Eddy for forcing "cute, innocent" Edd to participate in their schemes.

instead?T-borg 22:30, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't understand what the point of this is. -- 71.139.246.138 04:33, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't understand either. Why have a secondary characters section anyway? I don't think a show with only 12 characters can have secondary characters. --Philo 23:16, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Uhh... because the 3 Eds are the main characters, and all the others are secondary? Because the 3 Eds appear in every episode, but the others only as they are needed to react with the Eds, and finish the storyline? -- 71.139.246.138 23:45, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

The Kanker Sisters

Though it isn't "politically correct" I put that the Kanker sisters are stereotypical white trash, which they are, so whoever keeps erasing it stop! If you read white trash here at wikipedia it fits them. They are supposed to be the stereotypical white trash. Black Kat 16:31, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes, and everybody understands that, which makes stating it unnecessary. Keep in mind that this is an encyclopedia, not a comprehensive character guide. -- Elaich 03:28, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

If it's factual, then it should be listed. Just because some people know about it doesn't mean that others don't. After all, that is what a character description is. Black Kat 18:36, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

school.

How can Jimmy and Sarah be in junior high? Shouldn't they be in grade school?--suit-n-tie 04:03, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Where does it say they should be in grade school?--Screen317 18:51, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Before Season 5, the consensus among fans was that Jimmy was about 8, and Sarah was either 8 or 9. It looks like those ages will have to be revised upwards a bit. However - when I was in the 7th grade, I attended a "middle school" that was grades 4 through 7. Therefore, it's possible that Peach Creek Jr. High could be such a school. Putting Jimmy and Sarah in 4th grade makes them 9, which is no big stretch. -- Elaich 03:26, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Cool. Thanks.--suit-n-tie 03:57, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Phillip Laurence

Please cease from editing the article. This version has been widely accepted for many weeks now. Your continued snipping of what you consider cruft is unwelcome, does not meet the standards and definitions of cruft, and could be considered vandalism. Thank you. -- 75.28.50.160 04:32, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Examples of cruft I have removed that you consider "vandalism". the cruft I have removed is in bold.

  • While all the Kankers like the Eds, it has been shown that May has a preference for Ed, Marie for Edd, and Lee for Eddy (though Edd and May once fell in love).
  • Even though he usually has a very sweet disposition, he can become grumpy occasionally, especially when he gets a pebble in his shoe.
  • His middle name is Marion.
  • He was excused from gym class ever since "the dodgeball incident," until Season 5.
  • His nickname by Kevin is "double dork" --Philo 15:51, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't understand why you think listing Edd's middle name is cruft. It's an established fact. At the same time that you deleted cruft, you added cruft of your own, like Ed's nicknames. Eddy is the only one that call Ed by nicknames, so it's not really worth mentioning. It looks like you and I have different ideas about what is cruft and what is not. -- 75.28.50.160 14:41, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
As his middle name is featured in one episode as a plot point, it is irrelevant to the grand scheme of things. also, i've never added ed's "nicknames". --Philo 23:46, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, Philo. My mistake. == 75.28.50.160 18:58, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

It's probably because since THEY personally like it, nobody is allowed to touch the page and put anything THEY think is unneeded. Black Kat 18:32, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Misconceptions and Errata

I added this section to refute some of the often posted inaccuracies, in the hope that those people will see it and not post the cruft. If anyone can think of more points to add to it, by all means, do so. -- 75.28.50.160 15:08, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

And took it down. It won't be allowed to stay up anyway. -- 75.28.50.160 23:49, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I noticed those. I think they were good, but the problem was there wasn't any type of proof that those were said. Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but you want people to know it's fact, not "your bias opinion" or something. Black Kat 23:55, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Impersonation of an admin

Now, one of these bozos is impersonating an admin. GOOD, because maybe that just what we need to get this little war snuffed out.
