[edit] Commercial links

Coudl I respectfully suggest you stop adding commercial links to Scottish articles? This is known on Wikipedia as 'spam' and the prohibitions are spelled out in detail at WP:SPAM. Thanks, Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 18:00, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Manorlane

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Manorlane, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.manorlane.co.uk/press_centre_background.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:52, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Homes For Scotland

A tag has been placed on Homes For Scotland, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Bot found that this is a copyright violation. See User_Talk:Ecr33

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. User A1 (talk) 23:21, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Manorlane

A tag has been placed on Manorlane requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Copyright violation

It does not matter who wrote the text of the web site or the article. There was no license on the site, so by Wikipedia policy, it was in violation of copyright. All Wikipedia pages fall under the GNU Free Documentation License. Few other web sites, especially commercial concerns, use the GFDL. In short, you may have written it all yourself, but it was not properly licensed for use here. DarkAudit (talk) 13:46, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Economy of Scotland

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. User A1 (talk) 22:45, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:MANORLANELOGO.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:MANORLANELOGO.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:31, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
