[edit] About me

Well, I'm not really that active at the moment as real life is rather hectic right now. I'm a strong advocate of assume good faith and don't bite the newbies but I have little patience for those who abuse that trust. I also enjoy helping people so feel free to ask!

Danes waiting to board their ship on their way to The United States. This painting was painted in 1890 when emmigration from Denmark to America was at its peak. A total of some 300.000 Danes left their home country in pursuit of a better life across the Atlantic. Uploaded to Commons for use in an article I'm working on off-wiki.

[edit] Wikipedia philosophy

My philosophy on Wikipedia is as follows:

  • Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Politics and religious beliefs should be disregarded when editing as they don't belong in an encyclopedia. If you are here to push any of those you are here for the wrong reasons.
  • Assume good faith and try to create something when you delete something else.

That's it. Is that so hard to do?

[edit] Barnstar!

Finally some recognition. Only took me 2 years as a registered user!

The Barnstar of Good Humor
Aprils fools day was a blast. Loads of users lightened up to have good old fashion fun. I want to thank you for taking part in editing this page in particular and even though I may not know you, embrace the same talk pages, or even edit with you in the near future, I'd like to award you this Barnstar for making Wikipedia a fun environment in which to contribute. Until next year. :) SynergeticMaggot (talk) 13:02, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Lorenzo the Magnificent Ka-Ching Ka-Ching Citation of the
Monied and Munificent Order of Wikipedian Patrons of Civilization
Under the authority invested in me by my wallet, I hereby pass on to you this token of appreciation for not only investing your time in Wikipedia, but also your cash for the further advancement of civilization through better-informed deletion discussions. As I was awarded a Citation Barnstar for parting with your own monies to find out more about an alleged source of notability for an article, a $2.95 investment, so I award you for your greater $10.00, with a suitably pimped out version of the honor. As a member of the M&M Order of the WPC, you are now authorized to bestow this same honor on any future Wikipedian who is willing to lay down cash for the same or similar purpose. I trust you will exercise your powers wisely, in the tradition of Lorenzo the Magnificent, who knew he couldn't take it with him. Live long and prosper! I salute you!
