[edit] Update
A lot of this sounds like Slovenia hasn't joined the EU yet, which it has. (anon 15 Aug 2005)
[edit] The Numbers
The numbers on imports, exports etc don't make much sense, since Slovenia with its two million population would have >20 times higher GDP than 140 million population of Russia. 10^12 is American "trillion", and American "billion" is 10^9. For years now these meanings of billion and trillion are also dominant in non-american English speaking countries. I can even understand the source of that mistake: in Poland, France and many other countries
- 10^6 "milion"
- 10^9 "miliard"
- 10^12 "bilion"
- 10^15 "biliard"
- 10^18 "trylion"
- 10^21 "tryliard"
- etc...

I can even understand the source of that mistake...?...?!...!?... well, preposterous... galling... and reasonably on an adequate "british pound" like level...
<hamster's dead>You can understand the mistake?</hamster's dead>

[edit] Cleanup
Article should be cleaned up a bit, better organised and extended —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Radufan (talk • contribs) 28 Jan 2006.
[edit] Date weirdness
Can someone who knows what is going on fix this very weird passage: "In 2000, Slovenia's economic growth reached 4.8 % (2004), annual inflation, 2.8 % (2005)…" - Jmabel | Talk 03:28, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] US Dollars
Why are all of these statistics in US$? Only one country uses the dollar officially yet around 13 countries use the euro. The euro will also be the currency of Slovenia in January 2007 and the euro is used in countries far closer than what use the us dollar. Yet another example of the Wiki American bias. 83.23.215.101 23:21, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Because it remains the main unit used by the World Bank and IMF, most international statistics on economies continue to be published in US dollars. - Jmabel | Talk 03:12, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New economy box
I've created a template for the Slovenian economy. If no one objects I'll add it in in the next few days and review the Economic Performance section. Template can be viewed at Template:Economy_of_Slovenia_table -- Declangraham 13:55, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not objecting the use of template or the content of this new table. But I think there's an unnecessary layer of template here. Template:Economy of Slovenia table transcludes Infobox Economy, but Template:Economy of Slovenia table is transcluded only once, at Economy of Slovenia. There's no point to make a template if it's going to be transcluded once (with unlikely further transclusion in the future). I know this problem is not specific to Slovenia only. Other examples include [1]. But it'd be nice if we can stop the bleeding now. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 03:13, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

- There are some examples of transcluded economy infoboxes, e.g. Republic of Ireland. I think that transcluding infoboxes in general are a good idea as they are very often unwieldy to edit and a novice user encountering them in the main body of a page is likely to be intimidated by the complexity of their syntax, e.g Economy_of_the_Netherlands. Having them transcluded leaves the main body of an article cleaner. That said, I would like an Edit option always included at the bottom of such infoboxes -- Declangraham 17:22, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Black Sea Economic Council Membership
Is Slovenia actually a member of the Black Sea Economic Council? I can find no reference to Slovenia on the BSEC homepage -- Declangraham 16:22, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
