[edit] Merger

Suggest this article be merged with Northern Ireland - 00:31, 4 December 2005 user:RussellMcKenzie

Propose - I believe that this article should be merged because of the lack of independant content to justify a new article. This amount of material is suitable for a section within the Northern Ireland article, and can be split in the future if it grows beyond the boundaries of its parent document. Disagree - The other parts of the UK have seperate articles, def needs expansion though Grunners 02:16, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Disagree - I agree with Grunners, if the other parts of UK have seperate articles for economy, then North Ireland does too. By the way I've extended the article -- TBC 00:12, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

This notice has been up for a while now, without much interest taken in it, as well as the article subsequently having recieved some attention. Therefore I have removed it. Grunners 15:04, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Smallest Economy?

82.29.90.40 16:08, 21 December 2005 (UTC)There is an error. Northern Ireland is listed as having the smallest economy, the Wales economy page lists it as being the smallest in the UK. Both cannot be correct!

The Great Gavini what about ye? - I'm pretty sure that Northern Ireland has the smalllest economy. Anyone have any evidence stating whether N.I. has the smallest economy in the UK or not?
Not sure about this --TBC 01:22, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Northern Ireland's economy is far smaller than Wales'. Per capita, Wales' is smaller than Northern Ireland's (according to Eurostat, in 2002: Wales €19,098, NI €19,603), but, since Wales' population is almost twice that of Northern Ireland's, Wales' economy is substantially bigger (same source: Wales €62.663bn, Northern Ireland €37.330bn). More up-to-date figures would illustrate roughly the same, with NI richer than Wales per head but having the smallest economy of the Home Nations. Bastin8 15:19, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Expanded Article

I've expanded the article. If you have any questions or comments please notify me. --TBC 01:22, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Currency Notes

The four banks mentioned currency notes are accepted currency within the regions where the banks were originally chartred those in Scotland Scotland only those in Ireland Northern Ireland only.

This is incorrect. I will add more on this when I have time but this section makes a few noteworthy mistakes - notably re Legal tender and te legality of regionally issued notes. poodler Poodler 10:26, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:NorthernBankNI20.jpg

Image:NorthernBankNI20.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
