[edit] Publishing in Ecology Letters

Since 1998, the journal has developed a reputation for its rapid publication process. 100% of editorial decisions are made within pre-determined limits and the average time from submission to first decision is currently 22 days.

Ecology Letters also offers a fast-track review process for exceptionally novel, high profile submissions following contact with, and approval by, the Editor-in-Chief. A letter arguing for fast-track handling should be accompanied by evidence that the manuscript in question either addresses a high-profile problem in the discipline (supported by relevant citations) or breaks important new ground in a rapidly emerging field.[citation needed]
