I delevoped Eclampsia after the birth of my son. I looked like I was still pregnant when I left the hospital, but everyone told me that was normal.(I had a C-Section) I felt ok until two nights after I was home, and I started hurting in between my shoulder blades. It felt like a pulled muscle. I was very emotional and I started crying and couldnt figure out why, and I aslo couldnt sleep. I kept arguing with my husband about going to the emergency room, I told him it would go away, I just needed to get some fluid off of me.I asked my friends if anyone had a water pill, a prescription one, and no one did. Its a good thing that they didnt, because the doctor told me I would have died. I was holding over 30lbs of water, and he said it would have ruined my kidneys and busted my bladder. I ended up going to the emergency room that next morning about 6am, and looked like a balloon. The staff took one look at me, and immediately started drawing blood, and hooking me up to monitors and then inserted a cath. My blood levels were down to 6. Which is very very bad. I had to have 2 units of blood, and then I seized. My blood pressure shot up and they took me to ICU. I was there for 2 days before they could regulate me. I felt worse than I ever have in my life. I thought it was going to be fine from that point on, but I was very wrong. I had trouble with my blood pressure for weeks after, and my swelling is just now going away, and its 10 weeks later. I have always been very healthy, and my blood pressure very low. I have to monitor my blood pressure at least twice a week, and still have small problems still. I hope that my experience can save someones life. I know if it wasnt for my sister-in-law and my doctors, I wouldnt be here today. Jennifer Phegley. clark8670@hotmail.com
