Echis carinatus sinhaleyus is a venomous viper subspecies[3] endemic to Sri Lanka.[4]

Sri Lanka.[4] The type locality is described as "Chavakachcheri, Jaffna Peninsula" (Northern Province, Sri Lanka).[1]
