Echinodorus bleheri is commonly known as Amazon sword plant, although other plants are also known under this common name. The plant is cultivated for and used in freshwater aquariums.

An aquatic plant with submergent leaves 40 - 60 cm long attached by petioles flatly triangular. Leaf blades are lanceolate or narrowly oval.

E. bleheri is known from the Amazon Basin, and was first exported as an aquarium plant in the 20th century from Brasil. It is now cultivated widely for wholesale.

E. bleheri propagates by division or adventitious plantlets.
