Eching got during an administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 his autonomy as municipality. With the building of the autobahn from 1936 till 1938 start a change from an agricultural structure to a more industrial one. Since the administrative reform of 1978 Günzenhausen, Ottenburg and Deutenhausen belongs to the municipality Eching. The constitution of the business park Eching, which was founded together with the neighbor municipality Neufahrn bei Freising, and the link to the Munich International Airport via the suburban railway lead to the fact, that Eching is now a modern suburban municipality.
