Ecgberht Ætheling
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ecgberht Aetheling (Old English Æþeling) was one of the eight sons of the early English king Æþelræd II (more commonly known as Ethelred the Unready). Little or nothing is known of his life. It is not thought he died in childhood but could have accompanied his father into exile in 1013 and there remained. If he did, he or his own children could have represented a rival claims to the throne of England in 1043 or later in 1066.
