Ecdysis is Miho Hatori's first solo album, after a long series of contributions to such bands as Cibo Matto, Gorillaz, the Beastie Boys, and Smokey & Miho. Released in 2005 on the Speedstar International label, it was initially distributed only in Japan. On 24 October 2006 the album was released in the United States on the Rykodisc label.
