[edit] Summary

nothing incredibly exciting here...just a view looking down the Emery St. staircase from the top...You can actually see here only less than half of the steps. The building there is the Park Tower. The staircase has, I think, 163 steps. Now that the photo is here, I'll count them again the next time I use the staircase. Halfway down, the staircase crosses a now-abandoned stretch of Dewey St., which at one time apparently ran up the hill, probably to somewhere behind the current Flynn Elementary School. The upper half of the abandoned street appears to be a walking trail of sorts, but I've never actually walked up it to make sure. (Such a shlep...the only time I use the stairs is on Shabbath...)
