[edit] Tax abatement?
I reverted the addition of the following text, because I can't make sense of it:
- In 1980, Bishop James Hickey, then bishop of Cleveland made the Oliver Tyrone Corporation a deal. The Diocese of Cleveland would hand over the land for the then proposed Superior Square Tower, in return the Diocese of Cleveland would get a 35-year abatement which was meant to help the Catholic Church in Cleveland.
Since the church doesn't pay any property tax to begin with, I can't figure out why they would need or want tax abatement. - EurekaLott 06:04, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
