[edit] Fart Fetish
You asked if I could transfer some knowledge from my copy of Encyclopedia of Unusual Sex Practices about flatuphilia. Well, really all there is under the entry is what I already provided on the deletion page for fart fetish. The only thing I left out was a brief letter to the author from a flatuphiliac who described a short experience he had with a woman who helped him indulge in the fetish. So go ahead and take what you need from what I posted already. As far as the book is concerned, here is some more reference info for it: ISBN - 1-56980-011-1, Published by Barricade Books Inc./New York. Dismas 13:14, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Hi, this is in response to the message you sent.
While I agree most of the information in the previous article was useful, I doubt with the current, much more strict enforcement against using primary sources, or making claims that can't be verified by a non-self-published source (even if the information is completely true), it wouldn't be able to be added back to the article. [edit] More schools on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion
As of March 25, 2005, there are an additional (6) articles listed for deletion under the POV notion that schools are non-notable (even though this is invalid reasoning as per the Wikipedia deletion policy). Please be aware that the following schools are actively being discussed and voted upon:
- VfD: Blake Junior High School (renominated)
- VfD: Franklin High School
- VfD: Lake Dow Christian Academy
- VfD: Red Lake High School
- VfD: The Sage School
- VfD: Toowoomba Grammar School
In response to this cyclical ordeal, a Schoolwatch programme has been initiated in order to indentify school-related articles which may need improvement and to help foster and encourage continued organic growth. Your comments are welcome and I thank you again for your time. --GRider\talk
[edit] ***************
Is *************** in fact a person? If so, who? Why would this mistake have been made? I'm reluctant to delete a page (without a VfD) without very good reason, as I hope you'll appreciate. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 15:54, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I'm sorry that you reverted my making the page a redirect, without responding to my query. Some research suggests that there is at least some reason for thinking that you're wrong on this: [1]. You may well be right, and the Web-site wrong, but I do need more than your word before deleting the redirect page. Please leave that page alone until you've explained further (the edit history of the Stile article tells me nothing, I'm afraid, beyond the fact that the name was removed from it). Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:12, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- The nndb page provides evidence (proof is obviously going to be difficult). An anonymous posting denying the identification is surely less convincing than this? I'm not committed to keeping the page, and would be just as happy to see it settled either way, but I don't want to delete a page without being sure. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:19, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Click OK
Hi! you asked some time ago me to look Click OK article. As I'm not awaare of the band I don't have much to add. There's few thoughts I had when I was reading it:
- Titles (of songs, etc) are written in Estonian only first letter is capitalized
- In external links:
- For the photo it would be good to mention the site (and owner/photographer)
- First newspaper article is just bout car accident and how they were transported to hospital, in my opinion irrelevant for encyclopedia
- Second newspaper article is about First Estonian clubdance (go-go dance(?)) competition. And there is mentioned that 2 girls (Kariny Joala and Monika Mandre) from Click OK won. So this fact maybe will be suitable for article.
Hope this is any help for you. --TarmoK 18:47, 19 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Those little annoying computer game images you added to tons of articles
You really, really, REALLY have to go through and remove all those tiny little stupid icons from that computer game from all the articles you put them on. That's just atrocious. Those serve absolutely no encyclopedic purpose whatsoever. As small as they are, I don;t think they'd have any purpose on the article about the game itself, but they sure as hell have no purpose being added to all the articles about folklore and mythology. I mean, come on, are all of these articles supposed to turn into image galleries for all the different versions of all the zillions of computer games that trivially happen to adapt that creature for the game? Use some common sense. DreamGuy 06:41, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- Many of these articles didn't have any pictures at all. I think they are making the articles better, else I would not have added them in the first place. And you have to note that these images are really free, so they are better than some fair use images. --Easyas12c 08:19, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- Do you think it would make sense to add images of every fictional/real elephant to elephant article. I don't. But I do think it is wise to have few elephant pictures in the article.--Easyas12c 08:28, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- Then get some that are RELEVANT and ENCYCLOPEDIC and LARGER and NOT FROM SOME STUPID ALMOST COMPLETELY UNHEARD OF COMPUTER GAME. Did you remove all those images yet? If you haven't, please do. I don't want to remove them all myself, but I will if I have to, because these images are clearly highly inappropriate. I mean, come on, get real. DreamGuy 16:57, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- I will let the editors of the specific articles decide. If the images are inappropriate they will remove them. We don't need to do that by brute force based on one, or even two opinions. The pain of removing the images is still smaller than the pain of adding them. So, if you remove the images I have suffered more. If you want to decide this for every article by yourself, then it is your business. I won't revert your edits, if you are to remove the images. I had my posibility to suggest a change, now I leave it to the hands of evolution. --Easyas12c 11:38, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Anal jewelry
I don't understand the comment you left on my talk page. I didn't do anything to the article except put up a proposed deletion template because the article is only a dictionary definition. If you disagree with the proposed deletion, you can simply remove the template. Since your first language is Finnish, maybe you could translate the Finnish article into English to expand the English article beyond a dictionary definition. I'm not into piercing, and I don't know how important the practice of anal piercing is, but I suspect it's not a widespread or popular practice because of the obvious, serious health risks. All I had to go on was the minimal information in the current entry. No reply to this message is expected or desired. If you think the article is worth keeping, just remove the PROD tag and expand it. Anyone can remove a PROD tag for any reason. Brian G. Crawford 16:33, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]
My introduction to Wikipedia
I loved this site the minute I found it in a Google search. In fact, I just now caught myself looking for the edit tab when reading a normal web page that needed a little tweak, so I think I have a problem already! And the mouseovers on these wiki links, especially when renamed, remind me of Mr. Subliminal. [edit]
My interests
But seriously, my interests are engineering, especially human factors and usability, cognitive science, jazz, epistemology for dummies, pop science, nonfiction, especially science books, technical writing and mental models, collaboration as in Wikipedia and participatory design, consumer protection, and bicycling. [edit]
My Wikipedia MO
Here's my entry in the Wikipedia:new user log from August 2004. Since then my editing style (MO) has been mainly working on links - adding both internal and external ones (usually one of the first few on the first page of Google hits), and fixing broken ones - I HATE linkrot.
Recently in early 2005 I have noticed that, just as it often happens with the problem of keeping track of anything, there are often articles that are not linked to similar ones and it can lead to much repetition of similar articles under similar names, so lately I have been liberally adding internal links to connect articles in order to build the web. BTW, what is the common term for these links? Free links? Free-links? Wikilinks? Wiki-links? None of them has an article that I can find. This concept is similar to the need for a common glossary in technical writing, so that consistent names are used for the same thing. OK, on 6/3/2005 I found freelink and wikilink in Wikipedia:Glossary. That's better. So I created redirects to teh Wikipedia glossary for freelink, free-link, Wiki-link, and wikilink.
I also create stubs when I am struck with a thought. My watchlist has been growing and growing, since I leave my breadcrumb trail by using the default of watching edited pages. The watchlist is then watched for vandalism, spelling, typos, or anything strange. I am a fan of properly filling in edit summaries, and in pursuit of guidelines for them I just found this: Edit summary legend. [edit]
Some gushing!
I am very excited about Wikipedia, which in IMO is nearly as groundbreaking as the web itself as the embodiment of the ideals of Vannevar Bush and Tim Berners-Lee on making accumulated human knowledge so accessible that the mechanics of retrieving it doesn't get in the way of thinking, or in other words, it has flow. In February 2005 I joined the m:Association of Inclusionist Wikipedians after thinking that one of my long articles had been deleted! And in August 2005, I discovered and joined the Wikipedia:Harmonious editing club. [edit]
My latest toy
Dillo - I just discovered this wonderful piece of software when commissioning my Linux toy, an old PC brought back to life for web surfing. An old Cyrix 686 processor (first with 32 MB, now 160 MB of EDO memory) can now surf like lightning, thanks to Red Hat Linux plus two pieces of minimalist software - the Blackbox window manager, and Dillo. (Although lately since adding that memory it works just fine with the very nice Gnome desktop). I was especially impressed with performance on Wikipedia compared to some other computers I have used. While Dillo only does sites with simple html, no Java programming language or https, and is hit or miss with javascript, it seems to have no problem with php. A nice feature is built in html syntax checking - almost all web sites have some errors. [edit]
What Wikipedia is not
As I expanded this use page, I wondered if I was starting to blog here, and violate the Wikipedia is not a soapbox policy. I don't really think so. On an initial perusal of the guidelines for user pages, I think I'm ok, since this info is mostly Wikipedia-related along with a small amount of personal info. Any opinions?
Hi Spalding - Brookie here - I think you're okay on your musing - it's albout you on the Wiki which seems fine to Me! Brookie 15:55, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Nomination for Patron Saint of Wikipedia
It just has to be Cliff Clavin! Dontcha think? [edit]
My CSS experiments and my small customization of my Wikipedia view
I sometimes have lost edits because I forgot to do the final save after successive Previews. I think the problem was partially banner blindness, but mostly that the "NOTE: This is only a preview and has not yet been saved" message was too small and blended in with the article text. So with the help of some good Wikipedians on the Village Pump Assistance page, I was able to make the notice big (and also blinking on Firefox, IE doesn't support blink). Now if I miss it, shame on me. Here's the line in my monobook.css, along with the development ones that didn't quite work. Note: I had to revise it for changes in MediaWiki 1.5 in June 2005.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Spalding/monobook.css
[edit]
WikiProjects
I think WikiProject Red Link Recovery is a good cause and WikiProject, because I have often found red links that are very easily fixed, usually because there is already an article with a slightly different capitalization, plural, or some similar small difference. I know that Wikipedia usually has an article (at least a stub) for almost any possible fairly common subject, word, or phrase, so very often I find wonderful articles that are just a small correction away from a red link in any given article, and I want to do as much as possible to prevent myself and others from wasting time and effort trying to reinvent the wheel.
Wikipedia:WikiProject Usability is another one I recently joined. There is also Wikipedia:WikiProject Categories. [edit]
Use of Javascript in the monobook.js page
I copied and pasted this suggestion from User:ABCD on Wikipedia_talk:Edit summary#Forcing summaries to force an edit summary to prevent inadvertently leaving it blank, since I usually intend to fill it in with descriptive text as a courtesy to others that are watching it. I tried it both as something nice to have and to get experience in Wikipedia Javascript customizing via the User:Spalding/monobook.js page.
The biggest problem in getting this to work was getting the browser cache refreshed. For Firefox, control-reload didn't seem to do it, it took control-shift-R. And it seems to wear out and need to be redone fairly often. There is obviously still a detail of this browser cache stuff that I still don't understand. [edit]
Useful links that I keep here for reference and as aids for editing
* WP:MOS, WP:LAYOUT, WP:EP, Wikipedia:Links, Wikipedia:External links and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links) - Guidelines for my most frequent Wikipedia activities, starting with the grand pubah, the Manual of Style, the critical Guide to Layout, then working with internal and external links * Wikipedia:Featured articles - I often wonder why there isn't a nice sample article for help in formatting, writing, etc., and then duh, I remember that is what featured articles are. * Wikipedia:Categories and Wikipedia:Categorization projects (current) - I have avoided categories so far after an initial burst of enthusiasm that was quickly squelched by confusion and disillusionment, but I think they are potentially good. The main problem as I see it is that every article can potentially be in very many categories which gets too messy, IMO, so I will peruse these for the categorization philosophy (1-3 categories per article? I don't know) as time permits before getting involved again. * Wikipedia:Wikiquette - Hey, can't hurt! * American and British English spelling differences - To help separate misspellings from American-British differences * Wikipedia:Build the web - one of the best features of Wikipedia is the interconnectedness of all things (within reason) * m:Wikipedia_sociology- Interesting.
[edit]
Fairly obscure tips and tricks that are in the manual but I missed for too long
These are all documented somewhere in the Wikipedia:Project_namespace namespace, but I put them here for quick reference.
1. Comments can be included right on an article page by enclosing them as shown: . A good use of this is to warn to check the talk page first when there is a section that is contentious and has been the subject of edit wars. To see the example comment that is embedded in this section, go to page edit mode. Actually this is documented in the very basic Wikipedia:How to edit a page, so it is a good example of RTFM, but the Wikipedia manual ain't no Mac instruction manual! 2. A pipe "|" symbol may be used to strip off the parenthetical part of a link and/or a prefix such as Wiktionary: or Wikipedia: or m:. An example is instruction manual used above to display instruction manual. Also useful for Wiktionary links - in that case it strips off the Wiktionary prefix.

I reverted your edit to the copyright status of this image because you did not provide a reason for doing so. If you want to discuss it, please do so, but do not simply change the status because you feel like it. If you have a good reason for doing so, then explain why. Chris53516 19:08, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- I did not edit its copyright status. I rejected the copyright examination, as the problem does not fall into the pool of problems that copyright examinations deal with. Please read the rejection template (the one that you removed by reverting) carefully. --Easyas12c 19:13, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Then where on Earth is it supposed to go? The image is from a webpage and it has a copyright problem. Therefore, I requested copyright review. It sounds like it's the right place to me. Chris53516 20:13, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
From Wikipedia:Requested copyright examinations:
- This page is a forum for requesting co-examination of copyright and licensing of content with other Wikipedians before it is included in a Wikipedia article, or to request such co-examination of copyright and licensing of an image
before the image is uploaded to Wikipedia. (emphasis changed)
I want to use the image in an article. It's already been uploaded, but that still fits with the above description. Unless I'm totally lost and confused, this image seems to fit in the {{Template:copyrightexamination}}. Chris53516 20:19, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Examining Christine Smith
The text at the top of Wikipedia:Requested copyright examinations says "Fair use checking should also be directed here". So why was Christine Smith, a dispute about fair use, listed as unsuitable for requested copyright examinations. Did I misunderstand what was meant by "here"? Andjam 07:38, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have no idea how that got into the page. Keeping the forum preinclusion has really been a pain. This is probaly because people don't dare to mark stuff copyright violations, when they are unsure about it. How ever thats not a reason for bugging the copyright examinations. I hope removing that unclear statement will help the project in its goals. I also plan to move rejected entries to a subpage, so no one can accidentially come to think they are correct entries. --Easyas12c 07:46, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Enter versus Return
Hi. I noticed you're listed as the author of [Image:Enter.png|Enter.png], showing the difference between 'enter' and 'return'. I'm not so sure there is such a clear cut difference. Certainly there's no widely respected standard: even older (IBM!) keyboards mix the labels. In hardware, the two keys generate the same keycode on the port (28) - some keyboard controllers use the extended code the keypad enter generates to distinguish between the two, but this varies widely from system to system: testing in C/C++ under Windows and Linux shows the two keys generate the same response (0x0a). MacOS, according to others, differentiates between the two, which I can't test myself. I just think it's not as simple a matter as one being return and one being enter, when on the majority of computers I've tested on you can't tell from userland code.
What are your thoughts on the matter. Do you have evidence to the contrary: I'm not totally certain of my conclusions. I've posted my thoughts on the matter at Talk:Carriage_return if you'd like to join in the discussion. --Dom 11:14, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

- I rejected it because it was about content already in Wikipedia and Copyright Examinations is a preinclusion forum. The request can currently be found at Template:Rejected copyright examinations which is also included from Wikipedia:Copyright problems page. --Easyas12c 19:11, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] FluffertraX
A tag has been placed on FluffertraX, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and put a note on Talk:FluffertraX. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RJASE1 Talk 05:12, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mark Horemans
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Mark Horemans, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Bondage
You are a sick, sick bastard. How can you find these sexual traits acceptable?????
Please reply on my talk page.
Regards, A thoroughly disgusted Zesty Prospect 16:16, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Who ever said I find them acceptable? Then again, someone who read your comment might think that you find them unacceptable. This being the case, you should thank me and my fellow Wikipedians for going trough and organizing all this information. It is useful to know your enemy. So we really save BDSM haters lot of time and trouble. They may not even have to see anything that really disgusts them. Still they can have all the related information available. --Easyas12c 20:57, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

- ha ha, cheers blud. Do you actually find it acceptable though? =]

- I'd look for a block warning for comments like Zesty P.'s
- I don't know what place he comes from, but where I was raised, he's at the edge of the law about discrimination of people's sexual orientation...
- ...Just for the info... --G®iffen 19:51, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

- My main man Zesto doesn't mention sexual orientation. It's a bit weird though for people to write these articles on Wikipedia. They must be either be a loser who has had sex once or a weird Sex God or they could try to help people about sex information. For instance I saw my friend try to finger his girlfriend's anus to day. Unfortunately her trousers were up. All the best if you want to help. You sick lonely weird bastard if not. Soopa hoops77 16:19, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rejected copyright examination
Can you tell me why you removed my question about Image:Jeffrey Goldblum.jpg [2].--Paloma Walker 01:58, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- See explanation at Image talk:Jeffrey Goldblum.jpg. Feel free to ask again, if you still don't understand it afterwards. I hope your question finds the correct place and gets answered. --Easyas12c 23:49, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mutella
I have redirected Mutella to a page of historical Gnutella clients. Other people were complaining about the number of entries for Gnutella clients. I think the information is short enough to be merged. If you have time to examine what I have done, that would be appreciated. Bpringlemeir 18:43, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] No content in Category:Click OK albums
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Click OK albums, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Click OK albums has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
