Talk:East

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Moving continuously East ... is not the shortest route." to where, exactly? It's probably one of the two shortest routes back to where you started, unless you are actually on the equator. Of course this assumes that the earth is a perfect sphere, there's no mountains in the way, jumping on the spot is cheating, and ignoring the movement of the earth round the sun, the sun round the galaxy, errmm, I think it's best to stay home and have a nice cup of tea, don't you? [edit] sun rises in the East?

Is East the direction in which the sun rises on all planets, or just planet Earth? --Rebroad 12:01, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
