[edit] Midnight Rider
should we really play into the radio bit here in wikipedia? its a fun gag they're playing with the midnight rider angle, but this isn't the place for it. --Whackbagger 16:15, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Is it a bit? How are you sure? Do you have information we dont? If you dont, then it's just your point of view when it comes down to it, isnt it? Please dont speak in absolutes when its just your point of view. Good day to you. 69.140.51.137 09:31, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

- Of course it is a bit. It is obvious to anyone with vision and/or hearing that the man in the pictures and the man on the radio is East Side Dave doing a bit. It's hilarious on the show. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR IT. I will be changing this to reflect factual information as I have time. DestradoZero 20:41, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

- Done. DestradoZero 21:12, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

- It is obvious to anyone with vision and/or hearing that it is not definitive, official, or verifiable information, and until such times, it should be cited as such. Perhaps you should post your sources for such information besides "the obvious."

- Please stop being ridiculous. Ron makes repeated comments about Dave/Rider not being able to "keep up the voice", or "keep the bit going". You know that it is Dave, and I know that it is Dave. Anyone with hearing and/or vision DOES know that it is ESD. Doing ridiculous stuff like pretending that you're somehow part of the bit is why Wikipedia gets a bad rap. Take a look at the notice AT THE TOP OF THIS SCREEN before deciding to make stupid edits.DestradoZero 22:20, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia
Please stop re-adding useless trivia. Here are a few things to read before you do. WP:TRIV#Guidance and Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_people --Bill.matthews 21:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Quotes
If someone is adding legitimate and/or humorous quotes to the page, LEAVE THEM ALONE. As long as they're real, they deserve to have a place on the page. DestradoZero 15:54, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

- I disagree. The quotes aren't notable. If you think they are notable, please use wikiquotes. --Bill.matthews 00:22, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- You are free to disagree, but this is a matter of your opinion. The quotes are notable enough in regard to the show, and adding them to Wikiquotes would serve only to keep them out of sight of the people who would be searching for East Side Dave. DestradoZero 17:49, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- How is the quote "Thumbs are the poor man's fingers" notable? It was mentioned on one show. It's signfigance beyond that? Humorous yes -- put it on a fan site, not Wikipedia. And as for his story about wetting his bed, again humorous, but doesn't need to be here. See Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons --Bill.matthews 21:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AFD and sources
The article has now survived an AfD, which means we're clear for putting some time into cleaning up this article. I propose to return it to being a stub and then we can add information as we find sources. Some has been kind enough to add links to large 23-minute, sound files, but there are no timestamps and they presumably only source on-air comments. A problem with those primary sources is that we can't know whether the subject is acting or is, for example, really drunk. So we can say that the character said he was drunk, or tlaked as if drunk, but we can't say he was drunk. -Will Beback · † · 00:20, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
