Talk:East Rock
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Please note that I've changed the elevation for East Rock to 359 feet. This is based on the New Haven Data Book, published by the City of New Haven, and available on the web here: [1]. However, no particular geographical survey is cited in that document; if someone has documentation for a higher altitude, please post it in this space. Chick Bowen 15:50, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
Also, a question: "great steps"? When I was a boy we called them the "giant steps," but of course I've seen nothing official either way. I haven't changed the article, but I'm curious if others have more information. Chick Bowen
I believe that on the maps posted in the park itself, they are called the "giant steps." I will change it accordingly, unless there are any objections
- I've changed the elevation to 366' based on a map published by the city of New Haven. You can see it via the link in the link section of article. The Giant Steps are an actual name for the trail, according to the city. I've also moved the lengthy info on the monument to its own page. hope you like the changes!--Pgagnon999 (talk) 16:31, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
