Eastview High School (EVHS) is a public four-year high school in Apple Valley, Minnesota. It is a part of Minnesota Independent School District 196 (Rosemount, Apple Valley and Eagan). It is affiliated with the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) and is a member of the Lake Conference. Established in 1997, it is the newest of six high schools serving Independent School District 196. Newsweek ranked the school in their "List of the Top High Schools in America for the fourth consecutive time (2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006, 2007)."[1]

  • Two Eastview students deface three portrait paintings of governors at the Minnesota State Capital. [2]
  • Eastview Debate wins Varsity Classic State, Varsity Public Forum State, Varsity Lincoln-Douglas State, JV Classic State, JV Public Forum State, Novice Classic state and retains Governor's Cup.- Fall/Winter
  • The football team finished 2nd in the Lake Conference and won the section 3AAAAA championship. They lost in the state semifinals and finished the season 11-2. - Fall
  • Eastview alum Sarah Prosen (Class of 2007) represented the United States at the Trampoline World Championships in Quebec, Canada. Sarah's U.S. women's double-mini team (including teammates Kaci Barry and Aubree Balkan) captured the bronze medal. [3] - Fall
  • The girls' soccer team won the Section 3AA championship. They lost in the state quarterfinals to Robbinsdale Armstrong and finished the season with a 17-2-3 record. - Fall

  • Eastview Principal Dr. J. Richard Dewey retires. Associate Principal Dr. Randall W. Peterson[6]is hired as new principal - Spring
  • Eastview students win six regional Emmy awards including Best Sports and News Documentary - Spring
  • Eastview's one act play, Action, is awarded a starred performance at state - Winter
  • Eastview has 10 National Merit Scholars (7 Commended and 3 Semifinalists/Finalists) - Fall
  • Eastview is named 10 star school by Minnesota Department of Education, View Report Card - Fall
  • Eastview celebrates its ten year anniversary
  • Junior Brittnye McSparron Leads the Lake Conference in scoring for Basketball

  • Dr. Dewey hired as Director of Administrative Services. His job included directing the Human Resources Department for District 196, designing and building "High School #4", then directing the hiring and program building for the new school in Apple Valley.

Eastview High School, District 196's fourth comprehensive high school, opened in September 1997. Eastview High School is located in Apple Valley, adjacent to 200 acres (0.81 km²) of playing fields and recreational facilities. The 330,000-square-foot (31,000 m²) facility is built to house 2,000 students in grades 9-12. Eastview High School's students have achieved high honors in academics, athletics, and the arts. Eastview was identified as a ten star school (highest rating) by the Minnesota Department of Education.
