Eastern Suburbs (now known as the Sydney Roosters) competed in the 28th New South Wales Rugby League(NSWRL) premiership in 1935.

line-up for the 1935 season contained:- Arthur 'Pony' Halloway (Coach); Jack Beaton, Dave Brown, Jack Coote, John Clarke, Tom Dowling, Gordon Favelle, Bill Halloway, Ross McKinnon, Tom McLachlan, Max Nixon, Ernie Norman, Andy Norval, Rod O'Loan, Sid 'Joe' Pearce, Henry 'harry' Pierce, Viv Thicknesse, Fred Tottey, Les Trussler.

Premiership Round 18, Saturday 31st August 1935 - Eastern Suburbs 53(D.Brown 6, + Tries; D. Brown 7 Goals) defeated Balmain 13 at Sydney Cricket Ground.

The first of Dave Browns 6 tries took him past Dally Messengers point scoring record for a season.

  • Eastern Suburbs 1935 team

tries in Easts' Round 5 match against University. Setting the current club and premiership record. Other premiership records recorded in that match are the 45 pointts scored by Dave Brown coming from 5 tries and 15 goals, his 15 goals also still stands(equally) as the most goals kicked in a match.

  • In there round 6 match against Canterbury Bankstown, Eastern Suburbs recorded the club biggest win and the 2nd biggest win ever recorded in Premiership history. Other premiership records recorded in that match are the 45 points scored by Dave Brown coming from 5 tries and 15 goals, his 15 goals also still stands(equally) as the most goals kicked in a match.
  • Easts lost there only match of the season in round 8, going down to South Sydney 18 points to 11, This was the last time Easts was to taste defeat until April 25 1938.
  • Despite losing there captain, Dave Brown, early in there Semi-final match, Easts defeated Western suburbs Magpies| Western Suburbs]] 15 points to 10.
  • They claimed there 5th premiership, there first in 12 years, when they defeate South Sydney 19-3 in that year's final.
  • The 1935 Eastern Sububs side had the best points differential in premiership history averaging 42 points a match.
  • Dave Brown scored an amazing 38 tries from just 15 appearances that season.
