Started in year 2001 but has built itself as a renowned engineering college in few years. Initially there were only three branches but now it offers degrees in
1.Mechanical Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
4.Electronics and Electrical Engineering
5.Computer Science Engineering
6.Information Technology
7.Environmental Engineering
8.Bio-Medical Engineering
EAST has been approved by the AICTE (An undertaking of the HRD, Govt. of India), recognized by the Govt. of Odissa, and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela. Basic qualification for admission into degree programs is 10+2 years of study in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% in aggregate.

Admission to all Bachelor's of degree program is through the State conducted Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination). Students with Diploma qualification are also inducted into the degree program in the second year of study.
