Easter Oratorio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Easter Oratorio or Osteroratorium (BWV 249) is an oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach. The first version was completed on April 1, 1725. Three different later versions with remarkable deviations in setting and text exist. The work is arranged as Oratorium, because a telling Bible text is appropriate for it to reason; this is spoken however deviating from the usual Oratorienform not by an EH gelists, but shown in freely nachgedichter form.
