East Leyden High School

East Leyden High School is a secondary school located in Franklin Park, Illinois which educates grades 9-12.
Together with West Leyden High School in Northlake, Illinois, they serve the suburban communities in Franklin Park, Northlake, Rosemont, Schiller Park, River Grove, Melrose Park and unincorporated Leyden Township. Both are part Leyden High School District 212.
The school mascot is the eagle. As of 2005, the school principal is Dr. Beth Concanon. The school enrolls approximately 1880 students annually, 32% being of Hispanic descent.

Recent years have revealed several incidents of student-teacher sexual misconduct.
- McQueen Basil Duncantell, social studies teacher, allegedly engaged in a relationship with a student that culminated in at least five encounters on school grounds alone.[3]
- Dave VanDixhorn, girl's softball coach resigned after allegedly exposing himself (mooning) to a student.[4]
- Vandixhorn's ex wife, Katie, was also involved with a student on and off school campus in 2001. She was a child development teacher.
- Mr. Steve Wrenn, the nurse for a couple of years, resigned after he asked some female students about their sex lives, and told them about his. Also he was seen by a student on HBO's Real Sex Documentary Show and student later on told a counselor about this.
