East Lansing High School

East Lansing High School is a public high school in the city of East Lansing, Michigan, United States.
The school, located about a mile north of the Michigan State University campus, was originally built in 1957 after moving from the current Hannah Community Center facility. Since the year 2000, the school has undergone remodeling with the addition of several new wings and restoration of the old ones. The construction was completed in the summer of 2005, and the remodeled school was dedicated in September 2005. The school's official mascot is the Trojan and its colors are navy blue and white. The athletic teams compete as members of the Capital Area Activities Conference.

East Lansing is the most diverse school in the Lansing area with 49% White, 26% Black, 23% Asian, and 3% Hispanic.[citation needed]

- Spencer Abraham: Former U.S. Senator and U.S. Secretary of Energy.
- Amy (Taran) Astley: Editor-in-Chief of Teen Vogue magazine.
- Judi Brown(-King): World champion 400 m hurdler: 1983 Pan-American Games gold medalist, 1984 Olympic silver medalist, four-time US Outdoor Track & Field Champion (1984-87), 1987 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year.
- Stephen Burns: University of Michigan Head Men's Soccer Coach; former professional soccer player Detroit Wheels.
- Timothy Busfield: Actor in movies (Revenge of the Nerds) and television (Thirtysomething; The West Wing ).

The East Lansing High School mascot is the Trojan. Beginning in the 2007-2008 school year, ELHS recruited a student to dress as the mascot for team sporting events.

In general, East Lansing's "chief" rival have been the Okemos High School Cheiftons. A common nickname for OHS at ELHS is to refer to them as "jokemos".
