East Hills is a village in Nassau County, New York on the North Shore of Long Island. It is considered part of the Greater Roslyn area, which is anchored by the Village of Roslyn. As of the United States 2000 Census, the village population was 6,842.
The Village of East Hills overlaps the Town of Oyster Bay and the Town of North Hempstead.

The settlement began around 1643. The village was incorporated in 1931.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.3 square miles (5.9 km²), all of it land.

On Labor Day 2006, The Park at East Hills fully opened. The pool and grill had been opened since July 4, 2006. The park is on the location of the old Roslyn Air National Guard station. The village acquired the land and built the park. The park is open to the residents of the Village of East Hills. The park's pool is the largest municipal leisure pool on Long Island. Other park facilities include jogging and nature walks, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer and baseball/softball fields, a pool grill, senior center, fitness facility, and dog run.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 6,842 people, 2,245 households, and 2,029 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,991.5 people per square mile (1,153.6/km²). There were 2,275 housing units at an average density of 994.7/sq mi (383.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 92.94% White, 0.80% African American, 0.01% Native American, 4.82% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 0.83% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.48% of the population.
There were 2,245 households out of which 46.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 84.4% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.6% were non-families. 8.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.04 and the average family size was 3.20.
In the village the population was spread out with 29.9% under the age of 18, 3.9% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 28.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 97.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.6 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $149,726, and the median income for a family was $159,316. Males had a median income of $100,000 versus $52,115 for females. The per capita income for the village was $59,297. About 1.5% of families and 1.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.1% of those under age 18 and 3.0% of those age 65 or over.

- Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center, the only full service JCC on the North Shore. The JCC offers programming for newborns through frail elderly at its 90,000 square foot building on 7 acres. The site include 13 classrooms, auditorium, 2 full court gymnasiums, an indoor olympic-size heated pool, lounge areas, a cafe and an outdoor playground.
