East Haven High School is located at 35 Wheelbarrow Lane in East Haven, Connecticut. (It was formerly located at 200 Tyler Street.) It is a co-educational public school offering four years of education. Its school colors are blue and gold and its mascot is the yellow jacket. The school's mission statement is "to meet the needs of all students by empowering them to achieve their goals. [East Haven High School] strive[s] to provide a variety of opportunities for students to gain experiences and explore ideas to better understand themselves and their role in an ever-changing world. To achieve [its] mission, [the school] encourage[s] active involvement and communication among school, family, and community." The school is part of the Southern Connecticut Conference for athletics. East Haven shares an athletic rivalry with its neighbors to the east--the Branford Hornets. Though football game winners vary from year to year in what is sometimes referred to as the "Bee Bowl" or the "Hive Bowl", the Yellowjackets have not lost a Hockey game to the Hornets in decades.
