[edit] History

East Hampton, a teaching hospital, is located somewhere in London, and employs around 850 staff. The actual hospitals that are filmed are Northwick Park Hospital in the London Borough of Brent and the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke. However, some places, such as the offices of Sue White and Dr. Alan Statham, are filmed in a closed studio.

Apart from part-time courses in such activities as painting, the hospital has its own shop, a chapel, a canteen, a squash court and in one deleted scene, a florist. There is also a bar nearby. One member of staff, surgical registrar Dr. Caroline Todd, did have the idea of putting in an off-site smokers room in the hospital, but it was rejected.

Some of the wards are named after people associated with the show. For example "Fincham Ward" is named after the show's executive producer Peter Fincham. There is also the "Marshall Ward."

The hospital logo is a blue, upside-down triangle with the hospital initials (E.H.T.) in white, two on top and one on the bottom.

East Hampton's post code (as seen in Green Wing - The Complete First Series Scripts) is EB2 4NL.
