East Hagbourne is a large village and civil parish in Oxfordshire, England. It is 1.3 miles (2.1 km) south of Didcot and 11 miles (17.7 km) south of Oxford, within the historic county boundaries of Berkshire.
In recent times it has been awarded several Best Kept Village in Oxfordshire titles.
One of the houses on Main Road is reputed to be the owner of the smallest window in England.
There are several village events that take place in the village each year. These include an annual Fun Run on the May Day Bank Holiday, typically of 4.5 to 5.5 miles, which involves a run around the surrounding area, including the villages of Blewbury and Upton.

[edit] History
There has been a settlement at the site since at least the 10th century and the village is mentioned in the Domesday Book where a church is recorded at the site. East and West Hagbourne have always been separate villages. In 1659 a 'Great Fire' burnt down a considerable number of thatched houses in East Hagbourne, and the King made requests for aid to be sent to the village. This could explain the number of well preserved houses from this era.
[edit] Amenities
In addition to St Andrew's Church, East Hagbourne has a Church of England Primary School on Main Road. Opposite the school is Hagbourne's Village Hall, used regularly for village events.
East Hagbourne has only one pub remaining, The Fleur de Lys. This is a popular pub with a beer garden. There is a small Post Office and a village shop in New Road, managed by local volunteers.
[edit] Film and television
Several episodes of The Android Invasion, part of the BBC television series Doctor Who, were filmed in the village in July 1975.
[edit] Transport
As of 2007, there are plans to build a South Didcot bypass, which threatens parts of the village with demolition, particularly houses in the New Road area.
