The East Haddam Bridge is a steel, movable (swing) truss bridge composed of two main spans crossing the Connecticut River between Haddam, Connecticut and East Haddam, Connecticut. The bridge carries Route 82, with an average daily traffic of 11,600.[1] Compared to the downstream Raymond E. Baldwin Bridge, which carries I-95 and U.S. Route 1 (in six lanes), and has more than eight times as much traffic daily, the East Haddam Bridge has only two lanes and no separate pedestrian/bicycle lane. It is also closer to the river and is much shorter in length as a result.
