East Champaran district

East Champaran is an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India. The district headquarters are located at Motihari. The district occupies an area of 3969 km² and has a population of 3,933,636 (as of 2001). East Champaran is a part of Tirhut Division.

Mehsi is the entry point of East Champaran connected with Rail and Road both. This small place has number of visiting places at the east side of railway station. Mirza Halim Shah mosque, dargah, A very old library 'Nagrik Pustakalaya', Old High school of English period, Orchards of Lichi and mangoes and other places of interest. There are so many button factory which is like small industry but it is decreasing day by day because there is less support from government, mostly the people depends upon agriculture and the business.
Shrine: The mazar of Hazrat Maulana Mohammad Abdul Aziz (rh) is in the Kodaria village, Post:Kodaria, via phenhara. He(rh) is a very powerful saint of Awaisiya silsila. His Urs is celebrated every year on 11th and 12th Fasli Vaishakha (according to the Hindu calendar). On the evening of 11th Fasli Vaishakha, there is a Miladun Nabi(SAW) after the magrib nimaz, then Salat-o-Salam and dua. And on the 12th Fasli Vaishakha at 10:30 am, the chaders are taken from his (rh) room, where he died, to his Mazar Sharief. Then there is Chader Poshi and Milad-e-Nabi. After Milad there happens Salat-o-salam and dua.After dua, a lunch for all the devotees.
Phenhara is a very prominent small town in this district, it has a very old middle school which is established before 1930, Mahatma Gandhi once had also visited this places.Phenhara is a unique example of Hindu and Muslim unity.
Kesariya is in south east of the district and it famous for Kesariya Stupa locally known DEURA this is one of oldest stupa. It is also good for tourist particularly for Buddhist.
Dhaka is one of the towns in the district. Sirauna is very popular village of East Champaran and Kasturba Gandhi had once visited this place to make the people learn about the basic education concept of Mahatma Gandhi.Jihuli is the most poular village of East Champaran. Late Ramadhar Sharma A Yug Purush is from this village.MLA Aavnish Kumar is also from Jihuli. Dr. Ravi Bhushan Sharma (Best Nero Surgeon of North India) is also from Jihuli.PK Sharma is showing the new way to Jihuli. Raxaul-It is a town in the district of East Champaran. It is the border town of India with Nepal.

Lauria- lauria is also a very poupularhistorical place in india,which is releted to GREAT ASHOKA PILLAR also known as aimportant plce of Worlds first democracy ,We known as LICHHAWI GANRAJAY .
